President Obama appoints woman to Supreme Court

President Barack Obama is batting two for two for women when it comes to his Supreme Court picks.  Today, the President appointed Elena Kagan to serve on the United States Supreme Court If confirmed, Kagan would become the fourth woman to serve on the high court and the second woman that President Obama has appointed.

Born to Jewish parents,the 50-year-old Ellen Kagan is the first female to serve as United State Solicitor General and is a current Harvard law professor.  Kagan has never served as a judge but is a well respected among the legal profession and jurists.  She also served during the Clinton administration.
