With one week left before the general election Dr. Judy Chu is working hard to get her message and her name out to the voters in the San Gabriel Valley and build excitement leading into the home stretch.  A special election to fill the Congressional seat vacated by Hilda Solis when President Obama appointed her Secretary of Labor will be held on Tuesday, July 14th. 

While Chu’s district is heavily Democratic and her 23 years working in the district give her an advantage, she still has an uphill battle ahead of her; voter turnout is expected to be low and her opponent has the same last name.

As part of her efforts to raise money and turnout voters Chu is hosting a “Home Stretch Fundraising Banquet” on Wednesday, July 8^th at Ocean Star Restaurant in Monterey Park.  A reception will be held at 6 pm followed by dinner at 7 pm.
