During a formal press conference today, just one day before the filing deadline, Kentucky’s Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes announced she will run again for a second term as Secretary of State.  Grimes ran for the U.S. Senate in 2014 against the powerful Majority Leader of the Senate, Mitch McConnell.

Alison Lundergan Grimes is the only female to hold statewide off currently in Kentucky.
