When the seat for Grant County Kentucky’s highest elected official position, county judge-executive, came open, several candidates on both sides of the aisle jumped in the race.  One candidate stands out—small businesswoman, entrepreneur and mother of five, Anitra Jump.  Committed to a positive future for her family and local community, Jump plans to use her talents as a business consultant to continue planned growth and services for the citizens of Grant County.  A graduate of the Emerge Kentucky women’s candidate training program, Jump recently received the endorsement of the Northern Kentucky Labor Council which should give her a boost in the Democratic Primary on May 20th.

A NEW VISION

The future of Grant County is directly related to the education of our children and citizens. When we are more educated about what is happening in our communities and beyond we are able to make the decisions that will strategically place us in the position to grow in positive ways. Each of us knows that there are issues far beyond what we can handle alone, from drug problems that rip families apart, to the lack of economic development in our area. I believe that we need to shift our focus and energy from the problems, to the solutions. It is time for us to come together and provide opportunities for our youth by creating a place where families with children can have fun in a safe, comfortable, and age appropriate engaging environment. It is time to bring more businesses to our cities that provide a livable wage so our families are not just maintaining but prospering.

It is also time for us to take an assessment of the resources we have so that we can promote and market them in a way that brings currently untapped revenue.
