On September 24th in Burlington, over 200 people gathered at Hotel Vermont to celebrate the launch of Emerge Vermont. Thank you to everyone who attended to learn more about Emerge Vermont and to hear from our inspiring speakers, Governor Madeline Kunin, Congressman Peter Welch and Saint Albans Mayor Liz Gamache. We were thrilled WCAX interviewed Governor Kunin live from the event and you can view photos, here.

“It’s time.”  

That’s the refrain I’ve been hearing after the launch of Emerge Vermont last month.  The turn out was amazing. Women want to be at the tables where decisions are being made that affect the well being of our families.

If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu. And we have to change the menu to include quality affordable childcare, earned sick days, workplace flexibility and paid family and medical leave. And above all, equal pay.

Emerge Vermont will help you get started, whether it’s a race for the school board, the legislature, or Congress. Look around your community–who would make a good candidate? Then, ask her to apply for our first training program. We’ll be ready to help.

Training Program and Applications

We are beginning to receive a lot of inquires about when our application process will open and when training will begin. We are thrilled there is so much interest in joining our training program. Our goal is to begin training with our inaugural class in February or March of 2014. Applications will open a few months before then. Please keep an eye out for emails and information on our website about when we will open the application process. We suspect this will be in late November or early December.
