Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton didn’t rest and relax for too long. She’s already back on the road giving high-profile keynote addresses—in what may be another indicator of a 2016 run.
“I don’t think she could be plainer,” Politico‘s Mike Allen said. “All signs are that she plans to go ahead.”
While she has more time than most candidates to decide, he said, she can’t wait forever, because her staff, political allies, and donors will start to get restless.
“The only urgency for her is that her allies in politics—her fundraising allies—are going to say ‘You’ve got to tell us what to do or otherwise we’re going elsewhere,’” Allen said.
For now, keeping her name in the press—and her face in the public eye—will ensure other, potential opponents won’t be able to build momentum until she’s made her decision, Allen remarked.
