She Should Run Issues Statement on Historic Night for Women

November 8, 2017

WASHINGTON, DC –  The following statement is from Erin Loos Cutraro, founder and CEO of She Should Run on the historic elections in New Jersey, Virginia and around the country:

“Before a single ballot was cast, this was an historic election for women. The tremendous rise of women, of all political stripes, to run for office is the natural evolution of those putting their name forward since the 2016 election.

The elections in New Jersey, Virginia and around the country have proven that women are running and winning in numbers that we have never seen. I have even more faith today that we will achieve 250KBY2030.

To those who won, congratulations. We are so proud of you. To those who lost but were brave enough to throw your hats in the ring, we applaud you. You have made your communities better and we hope that this is just the beginning of your journey.

The wave of women is real  – these elections are an indicator of what is to come.”

Founded in 2011, She Should Run is a non-partisan 501(c)3 organization committed to expanding the talent pool of women running for office.  She Should Run believes that women of all backgrounds should have an equal shot at elected leadership and that our country will benefit from having a government with varied perspectives and experiences.
