News-Times – Former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is making plans to meet in Newtown,, perhaps as early as Friday, with families of the victims of the Sandy Hook shootings.

The exact time and place is yet to be disclosed.

Giffords and her husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly, are expected to meet individually with as many of the 26 families as wish to speak with them.

Two years ago on Jan. 8, Giffords was shot and critically injured while holding a public meeting outside a supermarket in Tucson.

Eighteen other people were shot and six of them died.
