Professional Businesswoman Seeks Circuit Clerk Seat

By Kathy Groob, Publisher ElectWomen.com – Mary Ann Mader Jones has had business in her blood since she was a young girl.  Now she wants to turn her know-how into public service as circuit clerk for the people of Campbell County Kentucky.  One of 13 children, Mary Ann worked in her family’s insurance business until she was legally eligible to earn her insurance license.  While working her way through college, Mader Jones moved up in the business, receiving numerous business awards including Insurance Agent of the Year in 1992.

Working as a sales professional in insurance and mortgage brokerage, Mader Jones believes she can bring a degree of professionalism to the position of circuit clerk in her county.  “I will focus on bringing a more professional and ethical atmosphere to the clerk’s office,” says Mader Jones. “I will improve the services of the clerk’s office by making them more accessible and convenient to the citizens we serve.”

The circuit clerk’s position is responsible for Circuit court clerks are responsible for managing the records of Circuit and District courts, Kentucky trial courts. They are elected for six-year terms.

Circuit court clerks provide professional recordkeeping, receive money due the courts, pay money to required parties and to the state, record legal documents, provide legal documents and other legal materials, maintain the jury system, administer oaths, handle affidavits, and issue driver licenses and non-driver ID cards.*

“My background is in customer service and I’ve excelled at my work,” says Mader Jones.  In addition to her professional business work, Mary Ann Mader Jones has worked as a paramedic, emergency medical technician (EMT), EMT and CPR instructor for the Alexandria Fire Department.  She also has taught religious education and served as the coordinator of religious education at her parish.

Mary Ann’s husband is a Vietnam veteran and is active with the VFW at the Park Hills Kentucky Post.  Mary Ann is a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post in Alexandria Kentucky.
