By Kathy Groob, Publisher ElectWomen Magazine – An initiative announced today by Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (D-New York) and Barbara Boxer (D-California) intends to rally supporters of women’s rights in the wake of Susan G. Komen debacle last week.  One Million Strong for Women is asking people to sign up and join the effort to support women’s rights and to push back on the assault on women’s health and reproductive freedom.

“We’ve got to build a grassroots force that’s ready to take on the opponents whenever and wherever they attack women’s rights and women’s health,” says Senator Gillibrand.  “Our opponents are targeting women, especially lower-income women who depend on organizations like Planned Parenthood for crucial health care services.”
