Southeastern Institute for Women in Politics Launches Mission 2012 on Wednesday

September 5, 2011

This week, the Southeastern Institute for Women in Politics will launch Mission 2012, an aggressive campaign to elect more women than ever in South Carolina and we would like you to be part of that effort.

The 2012 election cycle demands that women step up and lead. We now make up more than HALF the workforce in the US and we are becoming the breadwinners in our households. Three women graduate from college for every two men. Women now earn 60% of master’s degrees, about half of all law and medical degrees, and 42% of MBAs. Women are starting more businesses than ever before and the old masculine work model is fading fast. All that and STILL women make up less than 10% of the policy-making bodies in our State. The time is now and we need your help to take advantage of the opportunity.
