PRIMARY 2010: Kentucky Democratic Woman’s Club President in Race for Circuit Clerk

Susanna French has been in the spotlight during in recent years. She’s been leading one of the country’s largest Democratic Woman’s organizations, helping to organize efforts to support Democratic candidates. But this campaign season, Susanna French is a candidate herself. French is running in the Democratic primary for Marshall County Circuit Clerk. The office of circuit clerk in Kentucky administers all legal transactions for the county including driver’s licenses, marriage licenses and host of other regulatory functions.
At 39, French boasts a long history of political involvement and community service. Her local newspaper, the Marshall County Daily pronounced French as the “hands down” favorite to hold the office of circuit clerk. She has served on the Kentucky Democratic State Central Executive Committee, currently serves as president of the Kentucky Democratic Woman’s Club and was awarded Young Democrat of the Year in 2007 by the Marshall County Democratic Party.
Her experience in the Marshall County court system and as a paralegal for the Commonwealth Attorney’s office gives her an edge when it comes to preparedness for the office. She has received additional training in civil and criminal court matters, victim’s assistance and in public service.
