Should She Run for State Office? South Carolina Woman Asks for Help in Making Decision
June 29, 2009
South Carolina politics is the focus of much of the national news media attention these days. But Marjorie Johnson, a potential Democratic candidate for Secretary of State in South Carolina, isn’t a top draw on television, but she’s drawing attention by hosting a campaign exploratory picnic at her home in Columbia on Friday, July 3rd.
A native of Washington, Marjorie is a graduate of the University of Maryland. After a distinguished career in public service working for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Ms. Johnson is contemplating throwing her hat into the political arena.
Marjorie has decided to let the public weigh in to help determine whether or not she has the support to run for statewide office. She has gained experience first hand on the South Carolina elections process through her work as a board of elections poll manager. She is also active in Democratic politics having served as an officer in various Democratic women’s groups.
Although her picnic is open the public, reservations are requested by calling 803-865-2263 or e-mail Marjorie at [email protected].
