Farrah Fawcett died today after a courageous battle with anal cancer that spread throughout her body.  Once known as a TV beauty pop icon, Farrah proved her acting abilities in a movie that brought the deadly secret about battered women out into the open with her performance in The Burning Bed. 

In “Farrah’s Story,” which aired last month, she made public her painful treatments and dispiriting setbacks — from shaving her golden locks before chemotherapy could claim them to undergoing experimental treatments in Germany.
