This Memorial Day Remember and Honor Those Women Who Served in the Armed Forces

May 24, 2015

This year we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.  Many have sacrificed in the name of The United States of America in several ways since then–Korea, Vietnam, Gulf and Iraq wars.  Among those who serve and die in the name of freedom are women. Women serving on the front lines, in defense of our nation, on continents around the globe.

The Women in Military Service Memorial at Arlington Cemetery honors all military women–past, present and future. Over 200,000 people visit the Women’s Memorial each year.  Exhibits featuring women for each major conflict as well as all five branches of government are included in the memorial.
