You will need the following tools to run your campaign.   There are many sources for most campaign items, however, links are provided as samples or for possible contact.

  • Campaign treasurer/compliance advisor
  • Website & blast e-mails
  • Donation envelopes, stationery, palm cards
  • Fundraising consultant
  • General campaign consultant*
  • Opposition Research
  • Family, friends, volunteers
  • Social media – build online communities
  • Lapel stickers or buttons
  • Parade and fair materials (banners, signs, giveaways)
  • Schedule house parties, friend-raisers, fund-raisers
  • Rally signs
  • Bumper stickers or magnets
  • Yard signs
  • Yard signs (alternative)
  • Oversized campaign signs (affordable vendor)
  • Candidate overview piece/doorhangers/direct mail
  • Field strategy, walking plan, voter lists
  • Debate Prep/Media Coaching
  • Polling data/voter analysis
  • Issues & position statements
  • Campaign office/headquarters (even if only your garage)
  • Early/absentee voting contact/mailers
  • Advertising – mailers, commercials, radio
  • Debate preparation (if applicable)
  • GOTV
  • Do it  yourself campaign buttons
  • Election night celebration location

*Consultants, staff, advisors are critical for major races but not feasible for some small, local races.  Party officials, elected officials and former candidates are the best sources for volunteer advice and strategy development.
